Welcome to Molly Kat Quilt Designs.
I started  the holiday season by doing a pair of quick strip quilts as Christmas gifts for my friend and her husband.  I gave them each a quilt so that there wouldn't be any fighting over who got the quilt for the night.  I had them backed with caramel colored minkee for winter warmth.  Above is a picture of one of the quilts.  The holidays have come and gone and it's now time to get down to serious quilting.

I have been busy cutting out new quilts and boxing up the pieces cut.  I have just cut all the pieces for a new pine tree quilt from Thimbleberries.  All the pine tree blocks are sewn and laid out in their appropriate places.  Now to sew the pieces together.  Thank goodness for design walls.  Unfortunately my wall usually has at least two quilts laid out on it, as it does now.  As soon as it is all pieced together I will post the completed top for viewing.

Then there is the other projects in waiting.  A log cabin quilt in earth tones and a half square triangle quilt in civil war reproduction fabrics.  A Grandmother's Flower Garden with a twist currently hidden behind my pine tree quilt blocks.   So many quilts to make and decisions, decisions on which to do first.

As always the deadlines for all the wonderful quilt shows in New England close in so quickly.  Vermont Quilt Fest's deadline is only days away.  Then there is the Maine Quilt Show and Bennington Quilt Fest.  And then there is our guild's challenge quilt for our June picnic.  That will be here before you blink an eye.

Need to get busy and sew, sew, sew.  As always, I say "Quilt on fearlessly."
Jo
